Acerca de mí
I am glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your physician, and I hope this page will help you begin to get to know me better.
My interest in medicine began at an early age when I witnessed my father battling aplastic anemia—a blood disease that prevents the body from producing new blood cells. Our family of four children, of which I was the eldest, lost our father when we were very young. My mother, with the help of my paternal grandparents, persevered to give us the gift of education. I came to New Jersey after completing medical school in Manila. I started in a small rural community practice in Michigan and later moved to a cosmopolitan area in New Jersey. I also served as medical director of long-term care at one of the facilities at which I worked.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My passion has always been internal medicine, but living with my grandmother inspired me to also train in geriatrics. This has created great opportunities for me and widened my clinical experience beyond my expectations. My areas of special interest are diabetes care and the management of geriatric conditions, such as falling, incontinence, confusion, and hearing and vision impairments.
Cómo vivo bien
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. Though the practice of medicine occupies a great deal of my time, I make it a point to enjoy life. I love the arts. I especially love Broadway musicals, “Mamma Mia!” being my favorite. I also ventured into figure drawing and, more recently, baking. My friends and I enjoy exercising together. Yoga, hiking, and appreciating the great nature around us are relaxing diversions I do to keep a healthy mind. Since joining Kaiser Permanente, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of keeping my mind, body, and spirit in tune. I hope to help you do the same.
