Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.
I was born in Taiwan but consider myself a Southern California native as I completed most of my schooling here. I graduated summa cum laude with departmental highest honors in biochemistry from UCLA (go Bruins!) and attended the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Following my internship at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, I moved to Boston for training in my field of specialty, physiatry, at Harvard Medical School. Boston was a wonderful experience, but I returned to Los Angeles to be with my family upon completion of the residency program. I started my medical practice at Kaiser Permanente in Downey in 2001 and have been here ever since!
At the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation, we practice a specialty also known as physiatry, which is taking care of various musculoskeletal problems that do not require surgical attention. Our goal is to treat and rehabilitate so as to maximize our members' quality of life. We are your partners in health, and we want your active involvement in enhancing your own well-being.
I am a firm believer that health maintenance goes beyond the physical. I am interested in disciplines that explore the mind-body connection, seeking to promote wellness in all aspects of my life. I have a yoga and tai chi practice. I also love being outdoors and enjoy the arts. Experiencing the world through traveling is also a passion of mine and allows me to have a better perspective on life.
