Acerca de mí
Hello, my name is Dr. Elias Name (pronounced nam-ee). I work as a hospitalist at Kaiser Permanente in the Antelope Valley, which means I care for members who have been admitted to the hospital. Having worked as a surgeon and a physician in private practice before joining Kaiser Permanente, I can say without hesitation, I love this system! There is more teamwork and fewer headaches for physicians and better quality care for members. It’s a team approach that is focused on you, the patient.
I went to medical school in Damascus, practiced surgery in France for several years, and then came to United States and settled in Baltimore where I completed my internal medicine internship and residency with St. Agnes Healthcare. After being in private practice for a while, I grew tired of having to manage a business instead of practicing medicine. I turned to Kaiser Permanente where I found a strong and effective system that focuses on providing excellent member care and offers physicians the support they need to thrive.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
Getting to know a member and developing a rapport is an art, not a science. I always try to listen to my members' needs and adapt my approach based on their desires. Knowing when to push and prod and when to hold back is a skill developed over years of practice. While keeping up with the latest advents of medicine is always difficult, I make a point of reading many journals and reviewing recent studies to provide you with the best possible outcome based on empirical evidence. When the facts support an alternative treatment, well explore the pros and cons together and come up with an appropriate plan for treating your condition. Few words are more magical than when a member tells me, "I feel better!" It is music to my ears.
Cómo vivo bien
When I am not helping members, I enjoy working with my hands. Whether it is painting, playing catch with my kids, or just enjoying the great outdoors as a family, I am happiest when my hands are busy. Perhaps that is just the old surgeon inside me finding new ways to express himself.
