Thank you for visiting my Web page. I am happy to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. The members of our medical team—including physician assistants, physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, medical assistants, and office staff—look forward to working with you to care for your overall health and well-being. It's important that you feel comfortable with your orthopedist, and I hope this page will help you get to know my team and me.
I moved from New York City to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to attend medical school and complete an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Michigan. I spent an additional research year studying shoulder problems, including rotator cuff tears and fractures. I pursued additional subspecialty training in complex shoulder problems at Harvard University-Massachusetts General Hospital and in Zurich, Switzerland. I still try to remain active in research interests. My father’s background as a pediatrician fueled my desire to pursue a life of helping others.
In my practice, I specialize in treating orthopedic disorders, including sports injuries and traumatic or complex shoulder reconstructive problems. It is a privilege to help you understand your symptoms, what causes them, and what treatment options are available. I feel honored when you entrust me with your care and will strive to treat you as I would my own family. My professional staff and I will provide you with educational materials that will give added insight into your condition and treatment options. Many conditions can be treated by nonsurgical techniques. We combine advanced surgical techniques, including arthroscopy and minimally invasive incisions, with proven traditional methods to provide our members with the best orthopedic care possible. We also offer new diagnostic tools, such as ultrasound, to detect rotator cuff tears. Finally, the teaching of orthopedic residents and subspecialty training (fellows) is an integral part of our service.
I have been active in athletics my whole life and understand the importance of maintaining strength and motion. I have been an avid tennis player and stay active with mountain biking, basketball, and running.
