Hi, and welcome. I am happy to introduce myself, and share a bit about my practice. I am a doctor who makes house calls.
I was born and raised in Loma Linda. After practicing family medicine in variety of settings, I pursued further training at Massachusetts General Hospital, where I began my next career in palliative care. For the past ten years, I have practiced palliative care in the office and out in the community, traveling from patient home to patient home. As a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, I am active in patient education and community outreach to increase awareness and understanding about palliative care.
Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with serious illness. We are a team of nurses and other specialists including social workers and chaplains that provide an extra layer of support. This includes managing symptoms such as pain, shortness of breath, and difficulty sleeping. Part of our practice is to take time to get to know you and your family at home. By doing so, we are better able to understand your goals and discuss the best possible treatment options.
Feeling integrated in mind, body, and spirit invigorates me. My routines include a morning meditation, and a good morning greeting to my wife and three kids. I have run several marathons and recently joined the trail running community. I love to read, and have an eclectic taste in books ranging from the novels of John Steinbeck to nonfiction about startup companies or psychology. Life stories inspire me. I am energized by connecting to the human spirit in context of the big, big picture.
