Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my surgical practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of all my wonderful colleagues and members.
I’m a native Southern Californian and was born at the Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center. I grew up as a Kaiser Permanente member and was always impressed with the high quality of care that my family and I received. I completed my undergraduate studies at Cal State Fullerton, where I studied biology and biochemistry. During that time, I volunteered at Fontana Medical Center. After medical school and my surgery residency, I undertook further training in laparoscopic surgery at Washington University. I’ve given presentations at local, national, and international medical meetings and have published extensively in the field of general surgery. While at the Mayo Clinic for my residency, I received several honors. The one I’m most proud of is the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award, which is given once a year to the trainee at the Mayo Clinic who best exemplifies the qualities of the Mayo brothers in patient care, research, and outreach.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My team and I strive to deliver the highest quality of care in a comfortable and compassionate way. Having trained with pioneers in surgery, I try to deliver the most up-to-date treatments. During my fellowship in minimally invasive surgery, I had the opportunity to learn from experts in laparoscopic procedures. I currently perform laparoscopic surgery for anti-reflux, paraesophageal hernia repair, achalasia (difficulty swallowing), and ventral and inguinal hernia repair. I also perform single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery). I have developed a special interest in advanced abdominal wall reconstruction techniques and receive referrals from all over the Southern California Kaiser Permanente region. I'm a firm believer that all members who qualify should be allowed to benefit from laparoscopic procedures.
Cómo vivo bien
I enjoy spending my free time traveling the world and seeing other cultures. I work out as much as possible to keep physically fit. I also try to perform mission work as much as I can both in the United States and internationally.
