Acerca de mí
Hi, and thank you for visiting my Web page. I’m glad to have this space to share a little bit about me. Relationships between doctors and members require good communication, and I hope this page starts the conversation.
I was born in North Carolina and moved to Southern California as a teenager. I stayed in California for college at UC Berkeley (go, Bears!) and went back to North Carolina for medical school and a master’s degree in public health at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. I completed my internal medicine residency in Portland, Oregon, and decided to return home to Los Angeles to begin my practice. When I am not at work I love to hike, spend beach days with my family, ski during the winter, and explore the great LA food scene.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I work as a hospitalist, meaning I spend almost all of my time caring for members that are admitted to the hospital or who have recently been discharged from the hospital. This is pretty different work from primary care. My goal is to diagnose and treat serious illnesses that require hospitalization and then work closely with primary care teams to ensure members go home safely and have a good plan for staying home and healthy. I think good hospital medicine must include close communication with members, their families, and their primary care team.
Cómo vivo bien
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I love my work as a physician, and I know I am able to better care for members when my own life is healthy and balanced. During the summers, I live well by getting outside and enjoying the sunshine, whether that’s by hiking in the mountains or relaxing on the beach. During the winter, I love to get in the snow and ski with my best ski buddy, my dad. I have practiced martial arts for over a decade and love the mental and physical challenges it offers.
