Acerca de mí
I grew up in Tampa, Florida, as the oldest of 3 children, spending a large percentage of my time outside of school on competitive soccer teams. My college years at Duke University were kept busy with varsity soccer obligations and premedical curriculum classes. After spending a gap year in Breckenridge, Colorado, as a ski technician, I returned to Tampa for medical school. It was during these years that I was drawn to orthopedic surgery because of the variety of physical and mental challenges that the specialty offered. I then returned to the mountain west area for orthopedic residency training at the University of New Mexico, where my interest in orthopedic surgery became more focused on caring for severely injured trauma patients. It was here that I met my wife, who was starting her fellowship as a critical care physician at the same hospital. After residency, we traveled to Sydney, Australia, and San Francisco, where I completed additional fellowship training and added to our family with the birth of our 2 sons.
I am an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the operative and nonoperative treatment of acute orthopedic injuries and conditions including fractures, sprains, strains, soft tissue injuries, and infections. I joined Kaiser Permanente after establishing orthopedic trauma service lines for CHRISTUS St. Vincent’s Regional Trauma Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Hoag Hospital System in Orange County, California. I completed my premedical training at Duke University, followed by medical school at the University of South Florida. My general orthopedic surgery training was done at the University of New Mexico, followed by year-long fellowships in knee surgery in Sydney, Australia, and orthopedic trauma surgery at UC San Francisco.
