Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I consider it an honor to work as a physician for Kaiser Permanente and the Los Angeles Medical Center. I hope this brief biography will help you learn more about my practice and me.
I was born in California and grew up in the San Gabriel Valley just east of Los Angeles. I developed a healthy interest in science from my father, who was a junior high school science teacher. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for a profession, but I knew that I wanted it to involve science. While an undergraduate in Los Angeles, I worked both as an emergency medical technician and as a student health advocate, which led me to a career in medicine. I saw medicine as combining my love of science with my desire to help others. I worked in health education for one year before I moved to New York for medical school. I came back to California and finished an internal medicine residency at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, where I was also chief resident. When my residency was over, I was very excited about the opportunity to stay on at the Los Angeles Medical Center and work for Kaiser Permanente.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I work as a hospitalist. This means I take care of people who are in the hospital rather than in a clinic or office. The Los Angeles Medical Center is a teaching hospital, so I often work with residents, interns, and medical students. I enjoy teaching and try to stress the importance of seeing things from the perspective of the member. I believe all of our members should be treated with respect, and I really focus on listening to them. My interaction with members is what I enjoy most about being a doctor. I also believe knowledge is power. I strive to educate members so they can become advocates for their own health.
Cómo vivo bien
Staying well requires an active effort. I enjoy running and spending time with my family. Vaccinations are another thing my family and I try to stay on top of for our health and to prevent disease.
