Acerca de mí
Hello, and welcome to my Web page! I am a board-certified family medicine physician at the Kaiser Permanente’s Rancho Bernardo Medical Offices. I am also a board-certified primary care sports medicine physician.
I was born and raised in a loving and multicultural home in Los Angeles as the youngest of 3 boys. My father is Japanese, and my mother is Mexican. My oldest brother is also a Kaiser Permanente family medicine physician. My other brother is an engineer in Orange County. I did my undergraduate studies at UC Irvine in biological sciences. After completion, I worked full time as a high school science teacher in the Montebello Unified School District out of my love for teaching and to supplement the expenses for medical school interviews. After completing medical school at UC Davis, I did my family medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles. I was fortunate enough to complete my primary care sports medicine fellowship the following year, also at Kaiser Permanente.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My practice is a mix of both primary care and sports medicine referral-based clinics. I see adults (18 and older) in my primary care clinics and athletes of all ages in my primary care sports medicine clinics. Outside of work, I’m also active serving our San Diego community. I am on the board for the Special Olympics San Diego Leadership Council, Medical Director for the San Diego “Rock ‘n’ Roll” Marathon, volunteer sports medicine physician for Mission Hills High School (go, Grizzlies!), and as of Fall of 2019, the team physician for the San Diego Sockers.
Cómo vivo bien
I thrive by staying active, being outdoors as much as possible, and enjoying the many adventures with my wonderful and loving wife and 2 amazing children.
