Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because I really enjoy my colleagues and patients. Practicing here matches perfectly to my belief of delivering high-quality medical care. I look forward to working with you to meet the needs of your child's health.
I was born in Tanuli, a village in the eastern part of the beautiful land of five rivers known as Punjab, derived from the Persian words Punj (meaning five) and Aab (meaning water or river). After graduating medical school at the University of Rajasthan in Bikaner, I moved to the United States in 1980. Except for the three years I spent for my pediatric residency training in Shreveport, Louisiana, I have lived in California since moving from India. I completed my subspecialty training in neonatology at Los Angeles County Hospital/USC. I was then invited to work at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. I liked it here so much that I have not considered any other position since then.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My practice is limited to newborn care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I believe that parents should talk to their child's doctor once a day, at the very least, to discuss progress and plans. Obviously, they need to be updated many times a day when the newborn's condition is more serious. No question is too simple. I am also a strong advocate of prolonged breastfeeding of newborns.
Cómo vivo bien
Since my children moved out to attend college, I keep myself busy in my backyard gardening on my days off. I am always interested in learning new languages and can boast of basic reading and writing skills in quite a few of them. I am also interested in interfaith studies, and I am active in Sunday school and activities for seniors in my Gurdwara (a Sikh place of worship).
