Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page, and thank you for visiting! I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente and look forward to helping you improve your health.
In my life, I have had the opportunity to spend time in many different parts of our great country. I grew up in the Midwest and then headed off to Cornell University in upstate New York for my undergraduate studies. Afterward, I attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and then did my surgical residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. I have lived in California ever since. In addition to my primary surgical education, I pursued further specialty training in advanced minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at UC San Francisco Medical Center before starting my work at Kaiser Permanente. I am married to an amazing woman and have two beautiful daughters. It is safe to say that I am usually spending time with them when I am not at the hospital!
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I am board certified in general surgery and enjoy treating a wide range of surgical problems. I have a particular interest in bariatric surgery (obesity surgery) and advanced minimally invasive surgery of the abdomen. One of the incredible aspects about minimally invasive surgery is that it enables surgeons to perform complex operations through several keyhole-size incisions. This is significant because it allows patients to recover much faster after major surgery. An operation can change one’s life dramatically, particularly in the short term. By featuring minimally invasive surgery in my practice, I aim to reduce the physical and psychological impact of an operation on my patients and to help them get back to living their normal lives as soon as possible.

I feel that quality relationships and sharing a connection with those around us are important factors in leading a meaningful life. My family, my friends, and my faith help provide these things for me and are my primary sources of love and inspiration in life. Accordingly, I seek to develop a similar rapport with my patients from the moment we first meet, for this is where I believe the patient care experience truly starts. In my spare time, I enjoy looking for ways to constantly challenge myself and grow as a person. For me, that involves exploring the outdoors, playing sports, reading, learning about emerging technologies, and supporting social justice.
