Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page! I'm happy to share more about me and hope you can find my inspiration and happiness on this page. I'm a family medicine/geriatric medicine physician at Kaiser Permanente at the Ming Medical Offices.
I was born and raised in Myanmar, also known as Burma (one of the Southeast Asian countries). I earned my medical degree in Myanmar and completed my family medicine/tropical medicine combined program at UC Irvine-Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, California. As part of the tropical medicine program, I went to Cameroon and Zambia during my residency training. During that training year, I realized that I love elderly populations and that taking care of the elderly, both physically and psychologically, makes me feel content. I finished my geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of Hawaii John A. Burn School of Medicine.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My inspiration for geriatric medicine is taking care of vulnerable elder populations and assisting them in transitioning to a healthy, happy aging process. My aim is not only helping the members I see but also the family members around our vulnerable elders. Teamwork is an important factor in my practice style. Also, active listening is key in my practice. I have had experience in seeing all age groups, as I trained as a family medicine physician, and I have extensive experience in seeing the elderly above 65 years of age in different settings such as clinics, nursing homes, care homes, foster homes, home visits, and hospital settings.
Cómo vivo bien
One of my favorite quotes from Gandhi is “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” I think optimistically almost all the time. My happiness during the weekdays is from seeing my vulnerable, lovely elders and after that, swimming and running every day in the evening time, which makes me feel fresh, active, and stress-free. I love traveling, especially to underserved areas for mission trips, volunteering, running, hiking, and snorkeling, and I love learning about new things, new places, new foods, and new languages, and communicating and exchanging knowledge and experiences.
