Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I am pleased to have the opportunity to introduce myself to everyone. After receiving a bachelor's degree from UCLA in 1990 and a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1994, I completed an internal medicine residency at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center in 1997.
Why did I become a physician? That decision came early in my childhood, when several of my older family members became ill with chronic ailments and I had to assume a role as a caregiver. This role allowed me to observe all the wonderful care and comfort provided by physicians and other medical staff. I think this critical period of my life provided me an incentive to pursue a medical career later on. After being married for over 20 years, I have been blessed with 3 beautiful children. My family has been and continues to be my biggest inspiration. I am truly grateful for all the love and encouragement I receive as a husband and father. But most of all, I thank God every day to give me an opportunity to be who and what I am.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
"Bad doctors only treat symptoms. Average doctors treat illnesses. But great doctors treat patients." This quote was the most important aspect of my medical training and remains the focus of my practice today. I believe a healthy body depends on an equally healthy mind and soul. During each encounter, the members I treat and I frequently address these aspects so that I can help them to stay healthy, both mentally and physically. As of early 2013, after 17 years as a blended internal medicine physician, I made a transition in my career to be a full-time hospitalist, focusing most of my practice on taking care of members who are in the hospital or at a continuing care facility.
Cómo vivo bien
I aim to be a good role model and inspiration for members. I practice what I preach about diet and regular exercise. Outside of practicing medicine, I enjoy music. Both listening to and playing music has been a hobby and passion of mine for a long time. It helps me relieve daily stress and renew my objectives for the next day. In addition, I enjoy spending time with my kids. I would like to travel more with my family to many interesting places.
