Volunteer opportunities
Kaiser Permanente offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for people like you who are ready and willing to lend a helping hand.
Hospice volunteers are needed
Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that engages your heart, mind, and spirit in caring for others in your own neighborhood?
Join the Kaiser Permanente hospice volunteer team and make a difference in the lives of members who are struggling with life-threatening or terminal illnesses.
Q. What do hospice volunteers do?
A. Our hospice volunteers provide companionship to patients in their home, run errands, prepare light meals, and give caregivers an opportunity to have some time for themselves.
Q. Where are volunteers needed?
A. Hospice volunteers of all ethnic groups are needed throughout our southern California service areas.
Are you bilingual? You are especially needed if you speak Cambodian, Chinese, Japanese, or Spanish.
Q. What is the time commitment for volunteers?
A. Volunteers are required to complete a 20-hour training course. Support group meetings are held every other month. Volunteers commit 2 to 4 hours a week, depending on the need, when assigned to a terminally ill patient.
Q. How do I become a volunteer?
A. Please contact the volunteer department in your area for more information. We would enjoy discussing the program with you.
