About Me
Welcome to my Web page. I'm pleased that you have this opportunity to learn more about me.
Biography
I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where my father is a gastroenterologist. I studied biochemistry at UC Davis and then returned to New Mexico for medical school. I enjoyed learning about gastrointestinal (GI) illnesses and initially decided on a career as a GI pathologist. I trained at Stanford University Medical Center for three years in anatomic pathology with a focus in GI and liver, but had a change of heart missing the patient relationships and clinical interactions. I pursued a second residency in internal medicine at Scripps Green in San Diego, and returned to UNM again for a GI fellowship. I was fortunate to return to San Diego and work with a great group of colleagues at Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I am very grateful to work with amazing staff and colleagues, many of whom I have become close friends with over the years. I have an interest in motility and pH studies and spend part of my practice focusing in this area. Working together as a team has always been important to me, and feel that I can rely on everyone I work with to deliver exceptional care. I completed the University of Arizona integrative medicine residency tract and frequently utilize this knowledge in delivering preventive and integrative care.
How I thrive
I strive to stay grounded through balance between relationships and personal endeavors. I spend time with family and friends here in San Diego and in Albuquerque. I've been a lifelong soccer player and avid fan. My hobbies include playing guitar and traveling with close friends and family.
