About Me
Welcome to my Web page. I'm very pleased to have this opportunity to introduce myself. With the training and experience I have, I hope to serve your needs and help keep you healthy for years to come.
Biography
I studied medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, and I completed my internship and internal medicine residency at UCLA. After completing my residency, I remained at UCLA as a chief resident and then as a member of the clinical faculty. I continued my subspecialty training at UC San Francisco, and I am now board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. I am a Japanese American, born and raised in Southern California. During my training, I lived in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and finally San Francisco. Having completed my training, I'm back in sunny Southern California, where I live with my family.
About my practice
As a gastroenterologist, I specialize in disorders of the intestinal tract, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and colon. I perform upper endoscopies, colonoscopies, and other procedures. I have a special interest in liver disease and have done research in hepatitis B and liver transplantation for people with hepatitis C, which has been published in peer-reviewed journals. I believe that the key to good health is having a lifestyle that incorporates a balanced diet, regular exercise, and healthy life choices. I can augment this healthy lifestyle by providing you with preventive medicine.
How I thrive
I thrive keeping active, playing basketball and tennis.
