About Me

I grew up in upper East Tennessee, and I have spent most of my life living in the southeast United States. This area will always be my home. I have been married for 14 years and we have two teenage children.I made the decision to become a registered nurse while in college, knowing I would continue on to my master’s degree for nurse-midwifery. I have never looked back. I have been with Kaiser Permanente for 11 years of my 15-year career and feel that I am truly at home. I cherish every individual I come in contact with each day: patients, family members and co-workers alike.

About my practice

As a certified nurse-midwife, I listen to women very closely. My patients know that they can come in and ask any questions that are concerning them. Teaching women about their health is also a top priority.I care for women throughout the lifecycle including adolescence, pregnancy, childbirth and gynecological care through menopause. In addition to seeing patients, I am the midwifery service director for the midwives who are on the labor and delivery team at Piedmont Hospital, and I serve on the peer review committee.

How I thrive

Moving my body is the way I thrive. I enjoy hiking and backpacking so that I can be surrounded by nature. I also enjoy knowing that everything I need is right on my back! My long-term goal is to hike all 2,175 miles of the Appalachian Trail, from Georgia to Maine, in a single hike. I also enjoy running for exercise. In addition, I like quilting, reading and gardening. All of these hobbies give me a chance to tap into my creative side.
