About Me

Welcome to my Web page. My name is Dr. Melanie Linke and I have had the pleasure of providing health care for members here at the Kaiser Permanente Garden Grove Medical Office since 1996.

Biography

I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was raised in Huntington Beach since the age of five. I attended Marina High School in Huntington Beach, then went to Cal State Fullerton, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences. I initially went to college with the goal of becoming a medical technologist and working in a lab; however, by my junior year at Cal State, I realized that I enjoyed interacting with people, especially the elderly and decided to try medicine. I graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa in 1980. I met my husband when I was 18, in my freshman year at Cal State Fullerton, and we have now been married for almost 30 years. I have two children who are in their early twenties and am very proud of them. I like to travel with my husband, particularly to places like Yosemite or Big Sur, which I find breathtaking. I love hiking.

About my practice

I believe in a holistic approach to medicine. Healing involves not just the body, but attention to the mind and spirit.

How I thrive

How I Thrive: I have a strong faith and that more than anything keeps me centered. I find that a quiet walk relaxes me. I find pleasure in just hanging around the house with my husband and kids in my "jammies" after I get home from the clinic or on weekends!
