About Me
I am proud to call myself a native Oregonian – born and raised in Scappoose. I studied music and biochemistry at Santa Clara University, in California, then completed my medical degree at the University of Chicago. After eight years away from Oregon, I was thrilled to return to complete my internal medicine residency at Oregon Health and Science University. I am happy to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente team and to contribute to the health of the community that I care so much about.
About my practice
I am trained in internal medicine, which means that I specialize in treating patients with complex medical conditions affecting the "internal" organs, such as heart disease, chronic kidney disease, chronic lung disease and more. My professional philosophy is to try and maximize my patient's quality of life while limiting unnecessary medications and procedures. While I am confident caring for patients with a wide variety of medical needs, I have particular clinical interest in treating patients who have received organ transplants, as well as those with chronic neurologic diseases, such as dementia, Parkinson's disease and ALS.
How I thrive
I believe that it's important to maintain a steady balance in life. I enjoy singing as a member of a local community choir, gardening, cooking and exercise. The most important aspect of my life outside of medicine, however, is spending time with my partner and two children.
