About Me

Aloha! My name is Cathy Arakaki. I was born and raised in Southern California, but grew up with a more Hawaiian culture. My parents and grandparents were born in Hawaii, and I used to visit my grandparents on Oahu during the summer.

Biography

Growing up, I was always fascinated with science, especially biology. Eventually, I decided on optometry. Now, I enjoy helping members with their vision and educating them on the health of their eyes. In my time off, I enjoy singing alto in the choir, playing piano, making jewelry (wire wrapping, chain maille, etc.), spending time with my family, and taking care of our 2 dogs.

About my practice

At Kaiser Permanente, I fit cosmetic contact lenses and specialty contact lenses for those who have keratoconus, corneal transplants, and other eye needs . I am also certified in glaucoma care. My goal is to try my best to give quality, comprehensive eye care to members.

How I thrive

As far as living a healthy lifestyle, I am a work in progress. I have a busy schedule whether I am at work or at home. I try to walk, exercise, and eat more fruits and vegetables, as well as cut down on the bacon-fried rice. All in moderation! I take one day at a time.
