About Me
After finishing my undergraduate work at the University of California, Davis, I traveled extensively. I attended medical school in Stockholm, Sweden, at the Karolinska Institute (home of the Nobel Prize) and did my internship at Mayo Clinic and residency at UCLA in family medicine. I completed a fellowship in sports medicine. My practice is non-operative orthopedics and acute orthopedic injuries. My philosophy about patient care is that teamwork works best and the most important member of the team is the patient. My wife, 3 children and I moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Colorado; we now wonder why it took so long to discover this great state. I have been a Kaiser Permanente physician since 2008. Here I have been able to practice direct patient care in a group environment with excellent colleagues.
About my practice
Medicine is highly specialized and involves teamwork. The most important person on the team is the patient. I work to get folks back to the sports they enjoy. In the case of chronic conditions, I help patients manage these conditions and present them with the information they need to make an informed decision regarding their orthopedic condition. With all the information out there, it is important that the patient understands their options and makes appropriate choices for themselves. My home office is the Rock Creek Medical Offices.
How I thrive
I thrive by spending time with my family and my children are a tremendous source of joy and pleasure. The mountains have become my ocean (I’m from the West Coast) and I enjoy the Rockies as I once did the Pacific. There is nothing like a good workout to help maintain balance in life. When the workout does not do it, there is always jazz or a good movie.
