About Me

I grew up in the Bay Area and moved to Colorado in 1986 to go to the University of Colorado's Nursing Program. As a small child I knew I wanted to be a nurse. This was confirmed when I was diagnosed with a spinal tumor at the age of 16. Looking back, I realize the tumor was the best thing that ever happened to me. It made me go into the medical field with a patient’s perspective and helped shape me into the provider I am today.I started working in the level two nursery at The Children's Hospital in Denver in 1990. I later worked at Boulder Community Hospital in the nursery, postpartum, and labor and delivery units. The later made me realize I wanted to get my graduate degree in women's health, which I obtained at Colorado University in 1996.

About my practice

I worked in a private practice in Boulder from 1996 up until joining the Kaiser Permanente team in 2013. What a fantastic change this has been for me and I plan to never leave! I truly feel it is an honor to be able to participate in my patient’s lives and life changes. I have been told by patients they never had as much fun having a pap smear after seeing me. I tend not to be the typical "by the book" provider and there's often laughter coming from my rooms. I try to place my clients at ease even in the worst of situations. I strongly feel my patients are in control of their health care and I am only there to guide and educate them.

How I thrive

I am married to my high school sweetheart, we have three sons. We live on a farm where I have my two horses, two dogs, and two cats. As a family we enjoy all the wonderful outdoor activities Colorado has to offer!
