About Me
Welcome to my Web page! I am Dr. Leanne Kon, and I would be honored to help you with any continence, pelvic organ prolapse, or female pelvic organ issues that you may have.
Biography
I was born and raised in Hawaii on the beautiful island of Oahu. I attended the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and also completed my obstetrics and gynecology residency there. I came to sunny Southern California to pursue further fellowship training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, and was fortunate to be given the opportunity to study with Dr. Donald Ostergard (one of the founding fathers of our subspecialty) at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. After my fellowship, my husband I and I realized that we loved Southern California, and I was blessed to be able to join Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center. During this time of training, I also started a family and now have a beautiful daughter who is a true California girl. I chose to subspecialize in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery because I wanted to help women fully live and thrive as they mature. Bladder, prolapse, and related conditions may affect a woman at any age and our team strives to give the best possible care when these issues arise. These issues are, in fact, very common and we encourage all women to discuss these issues with their physicians.
About my practice
Female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery can often have complex pelvic issues. So our division believes in a collaborative approach with other subspecialties, including general gynecology, urology, and colorectal surgery. Collaboration brings about a joining of the minds and this type of approach is used throughout our division with our patients, medical assistants, nurses, case managers, and colleagues. Learning is endless and in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, I strive to always provide you with the best possible care.
How I thrive
A healthy work-life balance is an important aspect of thriving and good health. My hobbies include knitting/crocheting, arts and crafts, watching reality TV, and spending time with my family. I also have a chocolate labradoodle who provides my stress relief therapy. His happy go lucky demeanor and patience with his human family always brighten my day.
