About Me

I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, though have been privileged to live and work all over the world. From an early age, I knew that I wanted to be a pediatrician and that I wanted to practice globally, focusing on children who live in poverty. I attended medical school at Emory University and received a master’s degree in the control of infectious disease from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Before moving to Portland, I worked in Atlanta, Boston, and Memphis, and served as a Global Health Corps pediatrician in Swaziland through Texas Children's Hospital.

About my practice

I am a pediatrician who loves her job taking care of children in the hospital and teaching residents and medical students about pediatric medicine and the social determinants of health. In the past, I have been involved with global health curriculum development and have directed an interdisciplinary medical-legal partnership to advocate for the rights of children in poverty. My main interests in medicine are global pediatric and maternal-child health, TB, malnutrition, and child advocacy. My clinical work and research interests have focused on improving pediatric health outcomes in resource-poor settings through provision of sustainable, evidence-based, community-driven medical services.

How I thrive

I love being outdoors and sharing these experiences with family and friends. I am an avid hiker and trail runner. I also love to travel, explore national and international parks, and read.
