About Me
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. My name is Michael Carter. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician and as a Ob/Gyn at Kaiser Permanente.
Biography
I was born in Great Falls, Montana. My father was in the Air Force, so we moved around a lot when I was young. I finally moved to Redlands, CA in 1992 and have lived in the Inland Empire ever since. I graduated from Redlands East Valley in 2000 and then UC Riverside in 2004. I then spent a year in Washington, D.C., completing a master's program. In 2006 I enrolled in Western University for medical school and completed my degree in 2010. I then went on to complete my residency in Ob/Gyn at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California. I pursued medicine because I loved science and the ability to apply to helping people. I have a beautiful wife and two young daughters.
About my practice
I recently graduated residency from Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in June 2014. I feel incredibly honored to be apart of the Kaiser Permanente family. Both my daughters were born at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center, so I know from a patient's perspective how great the patient care is here. I pursued Ob/Gyn because of the variety and the exciting challenges that this field presents. My first passion was for obstetrics, and I still enjoy the challenges of high-risk pregnancies. My current interests involve minimally invasive gynecology; I love procedures involving laparoscopy. These procedures are very challenging and rewarding and they benefit the patients so much.
How I thrive
I thrive by spending time with my wife, two daughters, and my two pugs. My hobbies include running and working out at the gym. I also enjoy getting out and playing golf occasionally. Now that I am done with residency I hope to start regularly running in a couple of half marathons each year.
