About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page.  There may be times when it is difficult to take the first step and ask for help. To make it a bit easier, I welcome you to explore this site and learn more about my practice. I had been in private practice for 15 years, and joined Kaiser Permanente in 2016. As a psychiatrist, my goal is to improve the quality of life of my patients and their families by providing competent and compassionate psychiatric care. I strive to offer the best treatment available by combining my clinical experience, available research, and a caring, collaborative approach. Please be assured that I will always treat you with respect, compassion and professionalism.

Biography

I grew up in a small town in Hungary with my parents and sister, and later spent two years in an international high school in the United States. It was a transformational educational experience for me. It is a unique school that brings together students from all over the world with the mission of inspiring them to build a more peaceful and sustainable future. As I loved science and was developing an interest in medicine, I chose to volunteer at the local psychiatric hospital as one of my activities. I quickly realized how it was a field that perfectly integrated many of my interest, such as science, medicine, human behavior, and the role of cultural differences. After graduating I returned home and completed medical school in Budapest, Hungary, then moved back to the United States, where I finished my training at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Hospital Psychiatric Residency Training Program.

About my practice

I find that the most successful treatment is the result of open communication and true collaboration between patient and physician. Together we will seek the most appropriate treatment options for you. I take time to explain the risks and benefits of your options and the reasons I am recommending them. I will always work with you to find a course of action we can both feel comfortable with. As a medical doctor, I will review your overall health as it pertains to your psychiatric symptoms and treatment. I will tailor my treatment with your medical conditions and existing medications in mind. I work with a great team of colleagues, including fellow psychiatrists, therapists, nurses and administrative staff with whom we share the goal and privilege to provide you with the best care possible.

How I thrive

My life today is full, with work, raising two teenagers, and squeezing out some time for my husband and I and our friends. Self-care is a must, especially in our field, with not only my personal well-being, but the health of my family and patients in mind as well. If one does not recharge there will be nothing to give to anyone else. I find no place better to unwind than in the quiet beauty of nature. The mountains are my happy place. Travel with family is another favorite adventure, which does not only allow us to explore, but to reconnect with old friends from all over the world. When home, I love to cook and we often take some classes in local cuisine when abroad. Gardening is also a way to be active outside and create a beautiful environment to relax in.
