About Me
I grew up in the Northeast, spending most of my youth in upstate New York and Boston. I decided to move west in the early 2000s and could not be happier with my choice. After spending time in Los Angeles, Hawaii, and Seattle, I can now say without a doubt that Portland is home. I received a bachelor's in nursing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a master's in nurse anesthesia from Oregon Health & Science University.
About my practice
Early in my career, while working as an RN in the trauma surgical intensive care unit, I made the decision to practice anesthesia. My focus is on patient and family interactions and working to establish rapport so that patients feel at ease during the perioperative period. While working toward my master's degree, I spent a good deal of clinical time at various Kaiser Permanente locations in Portland, where I admired the excellent teamwork, skilled providers, and shared passion for the job. I knew right away that I wanted to work with this group of providers.
How I thrive
I stay healthy by spending time in the great outdoors! I enjoy kiteboarding on the Columbia River or mountain biking the excellent trails that this region has to offer. I also enjoy surfing, paddling, and many winter sports, including snowboarding and skiing. When I am not running around with all of that, I am an avid reader of science fiction and historical novels and love to assemble challenging jigsaw puzzles.
