About Me

I am a Colorado native, originally from Pueblo, attending college at CSU in Fort Collins, and finally landing in the Arvada/Golden area. I chose the field of Audiology for many reasons, my paternal grandparents were deaf and thus there was always an interest in the world of hearing loss, being a music major at one point, the field seemed to combine my love of sound with the world of science. I have 4 children and my world has always revolved around them when I'm not working. We love to spend time together and Colorado provides the perfect environment to do that.

About my practice

The department of Audiology at Kaiser Permanente is committed to providing the best hearing health care for our members. I try to treat each patient as I would want any of my family members to be treated, with kindness, understanding, and compassion. I was an active participant when Kaiser Permanente decided to open Hearing Services, providing hearing aids to our members. This has been a wonderful extension of service to our members. I have been active/managing the Newborn Hearing Screening Program since its beginning in 1998 (has it been that long?!) The specialized testing of our pediatric population has always been a passion of mine and I continually strive to improve our service to our youngest members.

How I thrive

I am fortunate to have a wonderful, supportive husband, and pair that with my 4 great children, I feel blessed beyond words. To add to that my extended family and friends, life is full. Spending quality time with those important to us is really what life is about. I am always telling my children, "We all have plenty of stuff, we can never have enough memories" and I try to approach life that way. I have done several mission trips to Mexico, utilizing my skills in audiology but also my skills at putting roofs on houses. In 2010, I volunteered through Kaiser Permanente and participated in Katrina clean up in the Biloxi, Mississippi area. That same year, I traveled to India as part of a medical mission. I guess I would say that giving back is my way of thriving.
