About Me
Hi, and welcome to my Web page. My name is Dr. Janie Liu, and I’m a family medicine physician. My office is located at Kaiser Permanente’s Escondido Medical Offices.
Biography
I was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and grew up right here in San Diego. I later earned bachelor’s degrees in music and molecular cell biology from UC Berkeley. I then worked as a biology researcher at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla before moving on to medical school in Henderson, Nevada. After medical school, I completed a three-year residency with PIH Health Hospital Downey before joining Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I practice medicine because I like to help people become and stay healthy. I chose family medicine because I enjoy taking care of whole families and building relationships that last for years to come. I take the time to listen to my patients, and I offer my recommendations without judgment or prejudice and with careful consideration. I enjoy and feel very honored to be able to partner with my patients and work as a team to help them make well-informed decisions—from helping them get over an illness, advising them on when to start a family, treating their chronic illnesses, or offering guidance to them when hospice care is the next step At the end of the day, I hope to affect my patients as much as they affect me.
How I thrive
I thrive by balancing work and family life. I’m very lucky to be surrounded by family and friends who have been and continue to be my biggest supporters. My kids keep me busy, and my husband keeps me grounded. We love to travel, spend the afternoon at the park or the zoo, and enjoy taking advantage of all Southern California has to offer.
