About Me
I was born and raised in New York City to a single mother who instilled in me that hard work, dedication and perseverance would lead me to success. Going to high school in Brooklyn, N.Y., I learned how health care disparities and socioeconomic statuses drive health outcomes. From this, I developed a passion for medicine and combating disease that affects all communities. I have been blessed with a beautiful son who was born during my residency training. Thus, I know the value of family and the importance of balancing motherhood, wellness and a career.
About my practice
I am an advocate for healthy doctor-patient relationships. Thus, incorporating our members' ideas and concerns in the decision-making process is important to my practice. During my years of training, I noticed how cultural beliefs and traditional practices can have a significant impact on a patient's health outcome. Thus, I try to incorporate these practices into patient care so that they may have positive impacts on my patients' health. Lastly, treating the body holistically is important to me. It often takes the combination of mind, body and spirit to combat disease.
How I thrive
Our weekends are packed! We enjoy catching up with friends, weekend road trips, attending festivals and cultural events. However, our rituals are what allow us to tackle the busy work week. Hitting the gym, trying new healthy recipes, reading and burning candles with light music is our routine for Sundays. It helps us get energetic and ready for the week ahead.
