About Me
I’m glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It’s very important that you feel comfortable with your oncologist, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
Biography
I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I said goodbye to the snow when I attended college at UC Berkeley. It was at Berkeley that I became interested in medical research. I completed a combined MD and PhD program at Tulane University in New Orleans (the food drove me down South). I retuned to California to complete my residency in internal medicine at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla. I completed my subspecialty training in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. I am board certified in both disciplines.
About my practice
I have been practicing both hematology and medical oncology at Kaiser Permanente for nine years. Most of my time is spent caring for patients who have cancer. I see all different types of cancers in my practice. However, the most common types I see and treat are breast, lung, colon, and prostate.
How I thrive
I really enjoy most type of athletics and would rather engage in sports rather then be a spectator. I started running marathons a few years back with a goal to complete a marathon on every continent (I have a ways to go, and yes, Antarctica would be the last one). I also like to bike and swim. I have participated in several triathlons and even swam across the San Francisco Bay last year. Before work, you might find me in a yoga studio or a Cross Fit gym as the sun rises over this incredible city.
