About Me
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. My name is Lisa Mueller and I care for children with blood disorders and cancer. I am happy to share information on my training, interests, and the way I care for my patients and families. I have been a pediatric oncologist and hematologist for over 20 years, and I feel blessed that I can say I love my work.
Biography
I have always wanted to be a doctor as long as I can remember. I am the first (and only) doctor in my family. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest and spent all of my training and the beginning of my career on the East Coast. I came to Los Angeles because of my work and family. I am a mother and yoga teacher as well as a physician, and I am grateful to be able to do all three.
About my practice
I am committed to treating the whole person and family, and know that there is much more than medicine involved when it comes to healing and good health. I have a wellness clinic for cancer survivors that offer a multidisciplinary approach to living healthier. I count on my patients and family to participate in their medical care. I believe in empowering each child and young adult to learn to build their own health and happiness.
How I thrive
I have learned that there is no separation between body, mind, and spirit. I strive daily to deepen my awareness of all three through kindness, meditation, yoga and a healthy eating. I see my life as a health experiment for my self, my family and my patients. I believe that vitality belongs to all of us but requires devotion and effort. When I make recommendations about attaining good health, it is from both personal experience and a life long study of wellness from both Western and Eastern traditions.
