About Me

I was born and raised in Southern California. I came to Hawaii first with the Navy as a flight surgeon and then stayed to complete a residency in orthopedics. I have two children who keep me busy with water polo, soccer, dance, and singing.

About my practice

When I was in sixth grade, my favorite class was biology, and I discovered that I enjoyed learning about anatomy. The most important thing that drew me to practice medicine was the ability to help people. In my specialty, I like that I am able to perform surgery and help my patients immediately. In addition to my orthopedic residency, I completed a fellowship in shoulder and knee surgeries in an extra year of training in San Diego. I am board certified in orthopedic surgery and have been treating knee and shoulder injuries since 2000.My philosophy is to treat patients like family members and do what is best for each of them. It is very gratifying when my patients are happy, healthy, and free from pain after surgery.

How I thrive

I enjoy spending time with family and staying physically fit by biking, surfing, and hiking. Some other things I enjoy are racquetball, triathlons, scuba diving, motorcycles, skiing, and snowboarding. I am now learning how to kite surf.
