About Me
Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself.
Biography
I was brought up in New York City and did my undergraduate work at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. I met my wife in Pittsburgh, and we got married a week after I graduated. As of 2015, we’ll have been married for 45 years. My undergraduate degree was in economics, but after working for three years, I realized I wanted to pursue other interests and I returned to school. I attended the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, which is now affiliated with Temple University. After completing my training and surgical residency, we moved to Southern California, settling in San Diego, where I ran a private practice for 21 years. In addition, I began working for Kaiser Permanente part-time starting in 1992. In 2002, I left my private practice to work full-time with Kaiser Permanente. I have two grown children—a son and a daughter—both of whom are married.
About my practice
I do not perform surgery at Kaiser Permanente, although I was board-certified in podiatric surgery. I believe this gives me a special perspective. My goal is to eliminate your pain without surgery. I treat my members with physical therapies, medical treatments, custom orthotics, and hands-on care. I utilize the resources at Kaiser Permanente, with referrals to other specialties when needed. I also recognize when my members would benefit from surgery and make the appropriate referrals for situations in which surgery is needed.
How I thrive
I stay balanced by eating healthfully and exercising several times each week. Exercise is so important to our mental and physical health. My hobbies include photography and oil painting. In addition, my wife and I love to travel. We love visiting our grown children and enjoy our circle of friends.
