About Me
I completed my undergraduate, medical school, internal medicine residency, chief residency, cardiology and interventional fellowship at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor. I also received my Masters of Science (MSc) at the University of Michigan School of Public Heath, focusing on population science. I spent the next five years as a staff interventional cardiologist and assistant professor at the Denver VA Medical Center and the University of Colorado concentrating on complex heart and lower extremity procedures. My research focused on the treatments and procedures that improve the quality of life of patients with complex heart and lower extremity peripheral arterial disease. I was delighted to join Kaiser Permanente in October 2013 to focus on patient care.
About my practice
I am excited to be in a field where the goals of the patient, physician, and health system are so aligned. Together as a team, we can get patients feeling well again so they can focus on the rest of their lives. As a team, this is what we strive for. My specific practice focuses on interventional procedures to relieve chest pain, shortness of breath, and lower extremity pain. I also specialize in improving blood flow to the lower extremities to help with non-healing wounds and the preservation of limbs (avoid amputations). In cardiology, we are lucky to have known treatments and procedures to reliably achieve these goals.
How I thrive
I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to partner with patients towards a common goal; to feel better and get healthy. I thrive outside of work through life balance, gratitude, and serving as a role model to my family. I love the outdoors and everything sports. My wonderful wife and three kids keep me on my toes.
