About Me
Welcome! I’m Dr. Debora Semel, pronounced "Seh-Mul," or you can always call me Dr. Debbie if you'd like. I am honored to care for your child. I believe that pediatric care is a partnership, and I’m committed to supporting your family with compassion, trust, and respect.
Biography
My passion for caring for children began at a young age. I remember seeing images of children in need around the world and promising myself that one day, I would dedicate my life to helping them. That early calling led me to pediatrics, where I’ve been fortunate to combine my love of medicine with a deep commitment to helping children grow into healthy, thriving individuals. Today, I find joy in every interaction, knowing I have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life. In addition to my clinical work, I help coordinate pediatric educational talks and continue to seek out opportunities to learn and stay current with the latest in pediatric care.
About my practice
As a mother of 4, I understand firsthand the worries and hopes that come with raising children. That perspective deeply influences my approach to care. I treat every child as I would my own — with attentiveness, empathy, and dedication. My goal is to build long-term relationships with families based on trust and open communication. I strive to provide personalized care that is based on evidence and current research, in a warm and welcoming environment.
How I thrive
Work-life balance is not a luxury but a necessity. I try to incorporate my workdays with exercise, meeting up with a good friend, reading a good book, or listening to an interesting podcast. This helps me thrive!
