About Me

I appreciate the long-term relationships I’ve developed with my patients and will be retiring in September 2020.

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I have always had a strong interest in the natural sciences and an inclination to help others so a career in medicine was a natural path for me. I live with my wonderful wife and we have two grown sons.

About my practice

As a physician, I feel my job is to be both an educator and a guide for my patients. It is important to me to explain their health care options in order to establish a platform for achieving their optimal health. I enjoy practicing internal medicine because it allows me to follow my patients over time and track their progress while also having the privilege of developing long-term relationships with them. I embrace the constant challenges of the field and love having the opportunity to use my problem-solving skills, especially when treating acute illnesses. It is an honor to work within the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group because of the high standard we maintain for providing quality care. As the section chief of internal medicine for the Honolulu clinic, I am humbled to be a leader for such an excellent group of physicians. They, along with an invaluable medical staff, work together as a highly coordinated team to provide the best health care possible for our members.

How I thrive

I enjoy keeping physically and mentally healthy.
