About Me

I was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Dallas, Texas. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1998. I'm married with 3 adult children. I am an avid outdoorsman and love to fly fish and hunt. I love to ride ATVs, especially technical rides. I also enjoy skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. I'm a drummer and play at church most Sundays. In addition, I play in a band called Dogs in the Yard with 3 other physicians. I have the utmost respect for our law enforcement officers and firefighters. I was honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2020.

About my practice

As an internist, I see a variety of patients with complex medical problems. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families. I practice evidence-based medicine and love to teach my patients about their diseases as well as how to avoid long-term complications. I like to involve my patients in decision-making when it comes to managing their conditions.

How I thrive

I practice what I preach. I wake up every morning at 4:30 a.m. and begin my day with a strong cup of coffee and my Bible. I then work out for 45 minutes before reading the morning news. I'm a firm believer in taking care of my body, mind and spiritual health.
