About Me
As one of the professors at Kaiser Permanente’s Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, I practice and teach high standards of medicine with members, and desire to serve and enhance the communities where I practice. As a physician, I have a passion for wellness, prevention, and longevity in all members.
Biography
I completed my medical school at USC and my residency training in family medicine at Santa Monica/UCLA. As a professor in academic medicine, I have also published more than 40 articles and book chapters and have won numerous teaching awards from multiple academic centers, including USC, OHSU, UC San Diego, and Kaiser Permanente’s School of Medicine.
About my practice
I love caring for members of all ages, from newborns through seniors, and think of myself as a "comprehensivist" — someone who takes care of the whole person. I also enjoy caring for entire families and multigenerational care. I have high expectations of myself as a physician, regarding the attentive service to members, and have equally high expectations of members in terms of their ownership over their health, medical conditions, and reaching their care goals.
How I thrive
I truly believe it is essential to "practice what you preach." I engage in a strict, mostly plant-based diet, and exercise daily. Along with "an apple a day," I have added "a 5K a day" to ensure wellness. I have also embraced and engage in daily yoga and meditation and enjoy both listening to and playing music.
