About Me

I joined the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG) because I wanted to deliver state-of-the-art care in cardiothoracic surgery. My wife and I have three children who attend Punahou School.

About my practice

I was drawn to practicing medicine because it gives me the opportunity to help people. I chose to specialize in thoracic surgery because I love the heart and lungs. In my practice, I strive to be a leader in delivering compassionate care for our patients and their families. The acronym TEAM represents what I enjoy about practicing at HPMG: Together Everyone Accomplishes More. The close collaboration between primary and specialty care physicians in our medical group allows us to provide optimal care to our members.I am the current president of Western Thoracic Surgical Association and governor of American College of Surgeons.

How I thrive

In my free time, I enjoy tennis, swimming, and “talking story” with family and friends.
