About Me

I was born in the U.S. Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands and moved to Hawaii when I was seven years old. I feel fortunate to have grown up in such beautiful tropical environments.

About my practice

I decided to pursue a career in medicine because I love the intellectual challenge and value in helping people live healthier lives. I decided to specialize in internal medicine because I believe in prevention and cherish developing long-term relationships with my patients. I enjoy working with the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group because I'm able to focus on practicing medicine. I also appreciate how we're always looking to innovate and improve our medical care with scientifically-based evidence. My philosophy of care is to prevent disease. I believe that a healthy lifestyle and necessary medical screenings are crucial for my patients. Having worked at Kaiser Permanente Hawaii for over 20 years, I've become good friends with many of my patients whom I've seen for many years. I also encourage my patients to use the valuable resources on kp.org, which also allows me to communicate securely with them through email. I've worked on the Medicare Strategy Committee and lead an initiative regarding the optimization of care for our senior population. I also have a special interest in the metabolic processes of the body.

How I thrive

I keep physically fit by exercising daily. I love to sit and relax with a good book and get lost in the storyline.
