About Me

Welcome to my Web page.

Biography

My interest in health care spans the spectrum from the physical and material to the holistic and spiritual. I am the co-director of the hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship for Kaiser Permanente in Orange County. I am also a certified meditation instructor, a yoga instructor, and an Ayurveda consultant.

About my practice

I’m an orthopaedic surgeon with specialty training in hand and upper extremity surgery. The majority of my practice involves taking care of upper extremity problems, including those affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. I’ve been in the forefront of application of musculoskeletal ultrasound in clinical practice. In addition to using the latest technical advances in my practice, I appreciate the need for a holistic approach to these problems. Frequently, a person's mindset, occupation, lifestyle, hobbies, activities, and body type play a major role in the care I provide. I consider the relationship between my members and myself very important in treatment, and the first step in the healing process.

How I thrive

My personal approach to staying well is to keep life's big picture in mind as often as possible. Calming the mind through meditation and the body through yoga helps me, too. I keep my attention on improving my lifestyle at every step, by optimizing my eating, sleep, and exercise habits, and cultivating a compassionate mind.
