About Me

I am a native of Atlanta. Prior to beginning my work as a licensed professional counselor for Kaiser Permanente, I worked extensively in private practice and have worked in all of the major Atlanta psychiatric hospitals. In addition to practicing psychotherapy for over 20 years, I have taught Tai Chi, Qigong and meditation for a community education program. I have had a lifelong interest in Asian culture and meditation. In between college and graduate school, I studied the Korean language and lived 18 months in Seoul, Korea working as an interpreter. In my life today, I am most proud of my three daughters. They have all graduated from college and never cease to amaze me. I also enjoy my work as a therapist. I feel privileged to hear my patients’ stories and witness their strength and resilience in the face of life's challenges. Our members come from all walks of life and backgrounds. Every day is unique, and I am happy I get to be a small part of our members’ lives.

About my practice

As a licensed professional counselor, I work with adults by providing psychotherapy for individuals and groups. I have specialized in the treatment of anxiety and currently lead groups focusing on anxiety management, anger management and wellness. My emphasis is on solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral treatment. I enjoy the support of the Crescent Medical Center staff, which is the finest group of clinicians with whom I have ever worked.

How I thrive

I thrive in body, mind and spirit through the daily practice of Tai Chi, meditation and Qigong. In the past year, I have added the exercise of walking for 30 minutes each day in my neighborhood. Most of all, I enjoy daily contact with family and friends who provide me with a growing sense of community and feelings of gratitude for our time together.
