About Me

Welcome to my page! I am Suzanne Yoder and I am a pediatric surgeon. My primary Kaiser Permanente practice based at the Downey Medical Center. I look forward to helping you with any pediatric general surgical needs.

Biography

I have wanted to be a doctor since I was five years old. Growing up, my family moved many times and I have lived all over the country, and even for a time in London. I spent my first four years as a pediatric surgeon in Denver, Colorado and then began a locum tenens (substitute) position, which took me to varied locations including Alaska, New Mexico, Arizona, and Kansas. I am happy to have found a home in Los Angeles and a home with a great team at Kaiser Permanente.

About my practice

My partners and I take care of all pediatric general surgery conditions, ranging from complex congenital problems to small lumps and bumps. We operate on conditions in the chest and abdomen. Additionally, I have a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and like to do big operations through small incisions.

How I thrive

I thrive on variety. I enjoy surfing, camping, traveling to new places participating in triathlons and spending time with my dog. I also enjoy my volunteer work as a board member for Girls on the Run Los Angeles. In addition to these activities, I spend time each year traveling overseas to provide pediatric surgical care in places that do not have access to specialists.
