About Me
Originally from Southern India, I attended medical college in India. I completed my residency training in internal medicine at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio in 2002. I then completed a fellowship program for a year in geriatric medicine at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Later I worked in Tillamook, Oregon, from 2003 to 2007 as an internist for primary care patients and for inpatients at Tillamook Hospital. I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 2007. Raised in a family of physicians, it felt natural for me to choose the medical field. It is rewarding to assist in the prevention and treatment of various ailments, especially for an economically challenged population. Growing up in India has been a valuable life experience.
About my practice
I consider myself an advocate to my patients. I promote prevention and healthy lifestyles and help them understand chronic medical conditions. I support a diverse patient group, including a wonderful geriatric population. I enjoy learning about my patients' life history as well as their medical history. Getting to know my patients helps me deliver the best possible care. As a working mom, I relate to the challenges many of my patients face in balancing a busy lifestyle.
How I thrive
I enjoy nurturing my three young children and spending time with friends and family. I like to foster learning activities for my children in education as well as in music, dance and sports. I also enjoy making nutritious meals, listening to music, choreographing small dances (at events for a non profit Indian organization) and volunteering at my children's public school. I immensely enjoy hiking, camping, and photography in the beautiful Northwest, and I also enjoy traveling.
