About Me
Hello, I am Flavio Maggi, a physician/anesthesiologist who works with Kaiser Permanente members undergoing surgeries and other procedures/situations that need sedation/anesthetization, pain control, nerve blocks, neuraxial blocks, airway management, difficult intravascular line placement, or resuscitation.
Along with the rest of Kaiser Permanente Orange County’s Anesthesiology Department, I also help prepare members prior to surgery.
Biography
I finished my residency/specialization in anesthesiology in 2015 and began working at Kaiser Permanente soon after. During residency, I received the Resident Teacher of the Year Award and became Lean Six Sigma (efficiency/quality control) certified.
In 2005, I received my bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and cell biology from UC San Diego, where I was honored on the National Dean's List, and earned a music minor. In 2007, I received my master of arts degree in medical science from Boston University School of Medicine. In 2011, I obtained my medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
About my practice
I believe in providing high-quality health care to members by constantly seeking to improve as a practitioner and through frequent quality/efficiency improvement projects.
How I thrive
Family is my secret to thriving, both the family that's given and the family that's chosen. I spend most of my free time making memories with my son, daughters, brothers (I have 5), parents, and friends.
To keep body and spirit thriving, I go to the gym 5 days per week, where I play basketball, tennis, soccer, swims, and lift weights. I recently began meditating 20 minutes per day.
