About Me
I was born in Atlanta, raised in Florida and returned to Atlanta for graduate school. I live with my husband, daughter and our puppy. I chose to become a therapist because I love to join with people on their journey towards healing. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, being in nature and volunteering to serve my community, both locally and globally.
About my practice
Mental health is an essential part of overall health. It takes a great deal of courage to seek support when you are struggling. My approach to counseling is strength-based and holistic. I believe that each person's life experiences, relationships and cultural identity impact mental health and healing. Every person has the potential for growth, and I like to build on a patient's current strengths. I incorporate education, prevention, self-care and mindfulness-based interventions into my therapy. I enjoy working with patients on depression, anxiety, relationships, complex trauma, substance abuse and identity issues.
How I thrive
Maintaining a balanced life is important to me. Both my professional and personal roles are key aspects of my identity. Doing what I love, in a place that I love, gives my life meaning. Being with the people I love gives my life purpose. In my personal life, I enjoy hiking, camping and rock climbing, as well as regular exercise to help me thrive.
