About Me

I was born in Oregon and raised with five sisters on a little farm just outside of Mt. Angel. Our home was small but full of traditional values, loving support, and lots of fun. My family taught me the value of faith, hard work, honesty, and integrity. My wife and I were married in Portland and now have five children of our own. We both majored in biology at Bringham Young University - Idaho, have a great desire to work in healthcare and are anxious for the opportunity to help others. I work as the Lead Cardiovascular Perfusionist for Kaiser Permanente Northwest.

About my practice

I am a cardiovascular perfusionist at Kaiser Permanente's Sunnyside Medical Clinic (KSMC). While the complexities of my position are very technical, basically I operate the Heart and Lung machine during open heart surgery. At KSMC we focus on adult and young adult cardiac care. We provide a wide range of care, from congenital repairs and coronary artery bypass grafting to more complex as well as minimally invasive procedures in the cardiothoracic labs. These tasks, along with many others associated with equipment maintenance and quality control, make for busy but fulfilling days.

How I thrive

My family and I spend a lot of time outdoors, riding bikes, working in the yard, riding four wheelers, and playing sports. During the winter months we attend cultural events, go to the movies, and take family vacations. I have a small hobby farm where we raise cows, chickens, and ducks. The great Northwest has always been my home and I will continue to live and love this place for the rest of my life.
