About Me

Welcome to my Web page! It is important for us as physicians to know what is important in the lives of our patients, and I hope that by knowing some things about me that you will be more comfortable with me as your doctor.

Biography

I was raised near St. Louis, Missouri, in a town named Fairmont City that was populated mostly by Mexican-Americans. I attended college at the University of Notre Dame and medical school at Vanderbilt University. I trained in urology at the Cleveland Clinic and stayed there two extra years for subspecialty training in incontinence, urinary reconstructive surgery, and neuro-urology. I practiced for six years in Memphis, Tennessee. Eventually my Southern California-raised wife convinced me to move our family here, and I'm very happy we did.

About my practice

I enjoy seeing the full spectrum of urologic disorders, including incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, bladder problems, reconstructive surgery, and neurourology. I am blessed to have highly skilled physicians as my partners, and caring, well-trained nurses to assist us in the clinic. We all support each other in all aspects of our work, which winds up being the best way to support you while you are in our care.

How I thrive

After finishing my busy work day, I love heading to a home filled with three generations of love and support. My wife's parents help us by keeping an eye on our energetic sons while we are at work. I enjoy playing sports, taking karate lessons, roller skating, riding bicycles, and swimming with my sons and wife, and I am also an avid runner and photographer. I try to keep my hands in shape by playing guitar. While I'm not particularly good at any of these activities, I have fun doing them, which helps me stay healthy in mind, body, and spirit.
